The Vedic scriptures give a very detailed description of what the phrase "Kali Yuga" means. A brief description would be this; The age of quarrel, kaos and confusion.
In this age, the quest for Self realisation is fairly uncommon. A spiritual life style is not high on the list of priorities for the general population. Basically this age is becoming more and more like a 'God less' society.
There are a few who ask the question 'Is there more to life than this?' But compared to the world population, the percentage is low.
Often times this world has been referred to as a place of darkness, where as knowledge is frequently associated with the word light. Or darkness = ignorance and light = knowledge.
