Good Morning Yoga fans #YogaPalmBeach

Hi Yoga fans

We hope you are having an awesome day.

"Never look down on anybody, unless you are helping them up".

Unfortunately, these days it seems that bullying, both verbal and physical are on the rise.

It's almost as though a person is seen to be 'cool' if they are cruel and unkind to others.

This is one reason why it is helpful on all levels to introduce people to the ancient art of Yoga meditation. Why? Because studies have shown that this very agreeable, very sweet and simple practice cleanses a persons heart, mind and intelligence so that he or she can then come to understand with purified vision that all sentient beings are of the same spiritual nature as oneself, this automatically brings about the condition of tolerance and compassion and the desire to relate to others kindly. Not just showing kindness to human others - BUT demonstrating compassion to all living creatures.

This is the sweet fruit of this timeless practice. The regular hearing and singing of transcendental mantras, brings a deep understanding of how a person may live in the world in a non-violent way with a willingness to share and bring true peace to all.

Yoga Nidra Bliss #whatsongoldcoast4221

Yoga Nidra

Just as a car engine needs to be turned off and allowed to cool down after a long drive, similarly, after doing yoga postures, we need to cool our body with yoga nidra. It helps conserve and consolidate the energy from the yoga poses. Yoga nidra relaxes the entire system, preparing it for pranayama and deeper meditation. Stress is the number one cause of injury and illness, it is important to explore methods to keep balanced and joyful in the chaos of everyday life.

Guided Relaxation removes tension and fatigue in the physical body, relieves depression and anxiety, relieves headaches, reduces cravings and desires, rejuvenates and energizes the entire system, bolsters the body's natural healing capacities, and normalizes the circulatory system's functioning.

During class you will be guided into a state of deep relaxation where your breathing and thoughts are slowed almost to the point of stopping, which can be as restorative as a full night's sleep. When done regularly and with intention, one can more easily cross over into Psychic Sleep.

It is through this deep practice that you can gradually come to recognize that you are so much more than the body or the mind. The benefits of this class are cumulative - the more you do it, the greater the benefit.

If you would like to try this wonderful art of relaxation and rejuvenation, check out our yoga meditation timetable.

Reach Out - Take the time to care #yogapalmbeach

We all have a Mary in our life:

Mary is loved and thought of by everyone ... Just today her daughter thought about taking her to the doctor, her old friend thought about taking her shopping, her granddaughter 'almost' stopped by for a visit, and her neighbor 'almost' took her dinner.

Mary 'almost' got that much needed Doctors visit ... She 'almost' got some much needed groceries, she 'almost' had the first visitor in months and she 'almost' had a hot meal.

Mary 'almost' knew how much everyone loved and thought about her before she passed away ... alone.

Make sure you don't 'almost' do things ... because it may be too ... late'

Make that call, go visit, don't live with regret. Reach out and make someones day.

Kindness Matters #whatsongoldcoast4221

Kindness
Manifests in many ways. As you may know we do a lot of work on the spiritual level by sharing the transcendental practice of sacred sound meditation with all those who are seeking a deeper purpose in life.  This includes working on all levels for the ultimate good of all sentient beings. There are many ways a person can express kindness in their daily lives and we have listed a few ideas below.

Five Ways to be Kind
Here are five ways to demonstrate your kindness and to contribute to building a more caring, compassionate community:
1.     Give
*Share your good fortune by donating to a charity, but remember that many charities need more than money.

*Donate blood.

*Donate your clothing, house-wares or furniture.

*Bring your gently used toys to shelters for abused women and their children.

*Or bring the toiletries you collect from hotel stays to local shelters for the poor or homeless.
2.     Volunteer
Volunteer your time, energy and talents to help a worthy cause. The practice of Karma yoga is an ancient practice and is part of the timeless Yoga system.
3.     Say thanks
Take the time to say thanks to the people who help you every day – from the bus drivers who take you to and from work, to the shop assistants and restaurant staff who serve you, to the police officers and security guards who strive to keep you safe and free from harm. And the next time someone opens the door for you, helps you carry your bags, or does anything extra special for you, express your appreciation.
4.     Celebrate kindness
There are countless people in our community who are kind everyday:  Nurses, doctors, hospital workers, home health providers and the relatives and neighbours who care for others at home or close to home.  Acknowledge their kindness.  Tell them you value their generosity and caring.  They deserve the recognition.
5.     Pay it Forward
The next time someone is kind to you, make a conscious effort to pay that kindness forward by being kind to another person.  That way, you multiply the impact of kindness.  You feel good, you help another person feel good and you make a positive difference in the daily life of your community.

Yoga Meditation Positivity @yogameditationstudiopalmbeach

Hi All

Just a couple of thoughts on why the timeless practice of Yoga meditation is so good for us, for our heart, our mind, family, friends and all living beings.

An analogy we could use is that of a beautiful, soft, delicate, flower. Lets say for example that we, you and I are like a "flower" the yoga meditations would be likened to gentle rain that nourishes us / the "flower", bringing life, sustenance and causing the flower to grow and flourish.

Due to the fact that yoga meditations are pure spiritual sound vibrations and we are also spiritual in essence - we flourish and blossom when we place ourselves in a nurturing spiritual environment, in other words when we come into contact with the Supreme friend via spiritual sound vibration.

Other awesome side effects of this very powerful and soothing meditation is that a person becomes focused, grounded, has a more positive outlook on life and feels happier within. This is just the tip of the iceberg as this is a very in-depth topic.

If you would like to know more or would like to experience sacred sound meditation for yourself, check out our yoga meditation timetable. We welcome you anytime :)

#YogaPalmBeach : Best things Are NOT things 🌻

Rushing today, life is soooo busy. Just wanted to blog something and this is a very sweet quote. Anyway, pretty self explanatory. Hope you are having an awesome November, or MO vember to those who support this charity.

Movember

During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men's faces in Australia and around the world. The aim of which is to raise vital funds and awareness for men's health, specifically prostate cancer and depression in men. Money raised in Australia is shared equally between programs targeting prostrate cancer and male depression.

Alrighty, don't forget classes are on at Yoga Palm Beach this week, winding down for the year mid December though, so make the most of the opportunity to go Yoga and Meditate with the crew there.

#Vegan : Protein in Plant foods 🌻🌸

I thought our readers would find this interesting. This article contains some good information. Have a read, it might help you make different choices when choosing where you will get your dietary protein from.

Some valuable resources on this topic are: The China Study, Forks over Knives, Hungry for Change documentary, and Joel Furhman’s Eat to Live – just a few of many.

Because protein is such a topic of conversation when anything plant-based related is discussed, it’s important to share with you some plant based protein power-houses that will provide muscle-building, endurance sustaining, and optimum nutrition effects; fuel that is full of life-promoting nutrients, antioxidants, minerals, water, and fiber for healthy bodies.

1. Green Vegetables
Full of vitamins B, C, K, and A, anti-oxidants, important minerals such as potassium, Calcium, and Magnesium, fiber, and all essential amino acids, you can obtain all the proper amino acids from plant foods, specifically green, leafy vegetables.

2. Sprouts
Packing a serious punch, sprouts will rival any protein source as they’re 25-30% protein. They’re delicious in wraps, in salads, or even for the brave – thrown in smoothies. You can grow your own sprouts, making this powerful protein-rich food conveniently economical as well!

3. Chia
Used in the Aztec and Mayan cultures for endurance, Chia seeds are incredible protein sources. Not only do they absorb 10x their weight in water making them very hydrating, but they contain balanced Omega-3 and 6 fat ratio, have 5x the Calcium of milk, and are rich in anti-oxidants. They’re fun to use, too, as porridge (soaked in nut/seed milk overnight) or to thicken smoothies.

4. Hemp
Containing all amino acids, important Omega-3 and Omega-6 ratio, a high protein percentage, and a rich content of Vitamin E, hemp seeds are a super food in all they offer. Aside from being utilizable to create clothing as well as being economical to grow, they’re easily used in the kitchen. From hemp milk and butters to the seed itself thrown in salads, hemp is convenient to use and an important protein-rich source for those seeking to eat more plant-based.

5. Avocado
Many are aware that avocado is rich in essential fatty acids, but its protein-rich content and its Vitamin E content make it another super food to include regularly. Avocado also packs a good amount of fiber, B vitamins, Folic Acid, and Potassium. The ways to consume this creamy, protein-packed fruit are endless: in sandwiches, on its own, in smoothies, or in salads, it’s hard to be disappointed.

6. Coconut
Similar to Avocado in the fact that it is rich in medium-chain essential fats, therefore it promotes weight loss in the body, there are other reasons to consume coconut. Abundant in Zinc, Potassium, Fiber, and Iron, it’s also a great source of plant-based protein which nourishes every aspect of the human body.

7. Sprouted Brown Rice
Any grain when sprouted becomes more nutrient-dense and technically can be called a vegetable. A popular sprouted grain utilized in the plant-based protein world is Brown Rice, and for good reason! Sprouted brown rice is dense in Vitamin E, Magnesium, B vitamins, and all essential amino acids. Its bio-available nutrients are much more utilizable by the body and more importantly, is very alkaline forming in the body.

8. Pumpkin Seeds
Amazingly high in Zinc, Vitamin E, anti-oxidants, and amino acids, pumpkin seeds are a worthy food to include in one’s diet. Sprinkled in salads, as a snack, or even made into breads, they’re an earthy-addition to any meal.

9. Maca
Aside from its abundant vitamin B, C, and E content, it’s also rich in protein. Don’t forget – it provides plenty of Calcium, Zinc, Iron, Magnesium, and Phosphorous; its chalky flavor is perfect in smoothies or even dessert creations, preferably uncooked to retain its nutritional value.

10. Broccoli
Similar to the green, leafy vegetables, Broccoli is an intense protein powerhouse! Rich in Magnesium, Potassium, Calcium, Vitamin C, and even some B vitamins, it’s a health-promoting food. Steaming is an easy and healthy way to consume the vegetable.

Nature offers many foods that improve the health and provide abundant nutrition to the human organism. Never worry about where to attain ‘protein’ again, and reduce the risk of preventable illnesses by consuming more fresh plant foods in your diet.

In 2014 we plan on offering a couple of classes throughout the year on raw, vegan foods. So, there's something to look forward too.

Krishna - Song of God

The Lord loves us so much, he sang us a song "The Song of God" Bhagavad Gita As It Is translated by Srila Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.

Here's a great story. I hope you get something out of it.

Why you should read Bhagavad Gita (As It Is)

An old sage lived on a farm in the mountains with his young grandson. Each morning Grandpa was up early sitting at the kitchen table reading his Bhagavad Gita. His grandson wanted to be just like him and tried to imitate him in every way he could.

One day the grandson asked, 'Grandpa! I try to read the Bhagavad Gita just like you but I don't understand it, and what I do understand I forget as soon as I close the book. What good does reading the Bhagavad Gita do?'

The Grandfather quietly turned from putting coal in the stove and replied, 'Take this coal basket down to the river and bring me back a basket of water.' The boy did as he was told, but all the water leaked out before he got back to the house.

The Grandfather laughed and said, 'You'll have to move a little faster next time,' and sent him back to the river with the basket to try again. This time the boy ran faster, but again the basket was empty before he returned home. Out of breath, he told his grandfather that it was impossible to carry water in a basket, and he went to get a bucket instead.

The old man said, 'I don't want a bucket of water, I want a basket of water. You're just not trying hard enough,' and he went out the door to watch the boy try again.

At this point, the boy knew it was impossible, but he wanted to show his grandfather that even if he ran as fast as he could, the water would leak out before he got back to the house.

The boy again dipped the basket into the river and ran hard, but when he reached his grandfather the basket was again empty. Out of breath, he said, 'See Grandpa, it's useless!'

'So you think it is useless?' The old man said,'Look at the basket.' The boy looked at the basket and for the first time realized that the basket was different. It had been transformed from a dirty old coal basket and was now clean, inside and out.

The Grandfather said softly, 'Son, that's what happens when you read the Bhagavad Gita. You might not understand or remember everything, but when you read it, you will be changed, inside and out.

So, this is one reason for reading the ‘Song of the Lord’ The Bhagavad Gita (As It Is)

Yoga Meditation - For Inner Peace - Be Truly Happy And Free🌻🌸

Authentic Yoga Mantras are spiritual. At first it may be difficult to understand what this means, most  have no idea what spiritual truly means? But we can gradually gain some insight and understanding by practicing mantra meditation on a regular and consistent basis.

How is this possible? As an example lets say, a man is in a deep sleep, practically unconscious, not seeing or speaking. The sense of hearing is so powerful that even a sleeping man can be woken up by vibration of sound (someone calling out to him.)

In this same way the soul, although asleep (covered by the dust of material conditioning) can be revived or awakened by regularly meditating on sacred sound vibrations (yoga mantras.)

Yoga meditation 4221 want to share these words of wisdom with you.

"...The fact that the atomic soul is within the body of a gigantic animal, in the body of a gigantic banyan tree, and also in the microbic germs, millions and billions of which occupy only an inch of space, is certainly very amazing..."

Katha Upanisad

Consciousness is the symptom of the presence of the soul.

"Know that which pervades the entire body is indestructible. No one is able to destroy the imperishable soul."

This clearly explains the real nature of the soul, which is spread all over the body. Anyone can understand what is spread all over the body: it is consciousness. Everyone is conscious of the pains and pleasures of the body in part or as a whole. This spreading of consciousness is limited within one's own body. The pains and pleasures of one body are unknown to another. Therefore, each and every body is the embodiment of an individual soul, and the symptom of the soul's presence is perceived as individual consciousness. This soul is described as one ten-thousandth part of the upper portion of the hair point in size.

(Song of God) B. Gita As It Is 2:17

"For there is an eventuality as respects the sons of mankind and an eventuality as respects the beast, and they have the same eventuality. As the one dies, so the other dies; and they all have but one spirit, so that there is no superiority of the man over the beast, for everything is vanity. All are going to one place. They have all come to be from the dust, and they are all returning to the dust. Who is there knowing the spirit of the sons of mankind, whether it is ascending upward; and the spirit of the beast, whether it is descending downward to the earth?"

Australian holistic yoga meditation 4221- Live a life that is environmentally friendly.

What we can do to help reduce our carbon footprint.
(excerpt from World wide Institute dot com)

Less gas = more money (and better health!).

Walk or bike to work. This saves on gas and parking costs while improving your cardiovascular health and reducing your risk of obesity.
Consider telecommuting if you live far from your work. Or move closer. Even if this means paying more rent, it could save you money in the long term.
Lobby your local government to increase spending on sidewalks and bike lanes. With little cost, these improvements can pay huge dividends in bettering your health and reducing traffic.

Eat smart.

Eat plant based. Try to have at least one vegetarian or vegan day a week.
Buy locally grown. Purchasing from local farmers keeps money in the local economy.
Whatever your diet, eat low on the food chain.

If, for just one day a week, everyone ate only vegetarian foods, it would be like taking 8,000,000 cars off the road.
(excerpt from naturally healthy eating dot com)

Add yoga meditation to your life, this will result in (gradually over time) a change of heart. Everyone would become more peaceful and satisfied within, therefore not in the consuming mentality of trying to get more and more 'stuff'.

The practice of yoga meditation helps one to appreciate and respect all living beings (regardless of body) and to see the necessity of walking through this life causing the least amount of distress and anxiety to others.

Live simply and add yoga meditation to your life, it's free, enjoyable and very powerful. Find out more.

Australian holistic yoga meditation invites you to attend yoga, and yoga meditation classes.
